The Club Development Sub-Group of the Essex SDO Forum decided that there was still a need to introduce a County Scheme which will fit in with existing schemes such as Clubmark and Sports Governing Body award schemes. It achieves the following aims:
- To act as a stepping stone for those clubs already working towards their Sports Governing Body Club Accreditation or Clubmark. Clubs that already have this award automatically qualify for ClubSX to further promote their club.
- To enable sports whose governing bodies do not have an accreditation scheme and are not signed up to Clubmark to achieve an accreditation award.
- To enable small/adult only clubs to achieve an accreditation award (many of these may not be able to achieve Sports Governing Body awards or Clubmark, but are still quality clubs).
ClubSX is set below the other accreditation awards which means it should be easier to achieve because the criteria is not as high. However, this does not mean that we are compromising on quality or safety. For example, clubs with junior sections will still need to satisfy Child Protection Criteria. The Club Development Group set all criteria for ClubSX.
ClubSX is currently under review; please be aware that applications for the scheme in its current format will no longer be accepted after 31st December 2007.
