Up River Yacht Club

Up River Yacht Club, founded in 1936, is situated at Hullbridge on the River Crouch about ten miles up river from Burnham. The clubhouse consists of a club room, bar, kitchen and changing rooms. The boat park adjoins the clubhouse and car park, both of which are reached by a private roadway. There is direct access to a private slipway. The club has active dinghy and cruiser racing sections.

Blackwater Sailing Club

The Blackwater Sailing Club is a friendly family club of over 1000 members with a large cruiser and dinghy membership, and a thriving cadet section. The club boasts a modern clubhouse and training school, with state of the art race box, rescue and support boats and extensive facilities for dinghies and cruisers a-like. Club racing takes place between March and October and caters for all classes

Chapman Sands Sailing Club

Chapman Sands Sailing Club is a cosy, family-oriented dinghy/catamaran sailing club situated at the South-East coast of Canvey offering access to extensive sailing waters up to four hours each side of high water by means of a wooden jetty. As a non-profit-making organisation, we're entirely supported by members subscriptions and their voluntary assistance which helps keep fees low.

Fishers Green Sailing Club

FGSC is a volunteer-run family-oriented club in the Lee Valley Regional Park. We welcome sailors of all ages and all abilities. There is a flourishing Cadet Squadron where youngsters from 7 to 17 learn the sport of dinghy racing. Youth racing takes place most Saturdays throughout the year and there is club racing on Sundays and Summer Wednesday evenings.

Harwich Town Sailing Club

Harwich Town Sailing Club is a friendly sailing club committed to promoting sailing as a family activity from pottering around the harbour up to hosting championship events. The club has invested in cadet training equipment over the last two years with many cadets enjoying training days, and competing in local cadet events. The fleet consisting of 8 Toppers, 6 Optimists, and 1 RS Feva XL

West Mersea Yacht Club

A yacht Club providing refreshment facilities in the Club house and launch services to allow members to get to their yachts. An annual race and cruising programme including racing for cadets.

Perfect Day Watersports

This new club which will operates from April to October will meet every Tuesday Evening throughout the spring and summer. Fees to be decided however we will offer great value for a range of activities including Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking, Jet Ski and Powerboat. Our aim is to promote safe and enjoyable watersports activities in the Essex area.

Thorpe Bay Yacht Club

TBYC is run by and for its members with the aim of promoting and facilitating amateur dinghy & yacht racing and boat sailing. The Club members run a number of sailing courses for all ages to help get you out on the water and start the fun. We have a number of club boats that can be used free of charge and with superb club house facilities, bar and restaurant.

Enfield Scout Sailing Association (ESSA)

We provide RYA dinghy sailing courses and taster sessions for scouts, guides and groups of young people. We are affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association.

Chalkwell Lifeguards

We are a lifeguard and canoe lifeguard club with 50 members of which about 20 are active in providing patrols along the Chalkwell front, mudbanks and sea, using foot patrols, rescue craft and IRB. We meet every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday between whitsun Bank Holiday and the end of September each year, and every other Sunday during the closed season. We are affiliated to RLSS and BCU.

Brightlingsea Sailing Club

The club is one of the oldest, largest dinghy and certainly friendliest sailing clubs in the East of England. The Club is situated on the north east coast of Essex where the Colne Estuary meets the North Sea. BSC offers sailing in sheltered waters at all times of the tide for, dinghies, catamarans, and windsurfers and caters for novices to national champions.

Get into boats and get afloat! Essex has got a massive coastline with some great rivers, so why not get out there and make the most of your county? Sailing is one of the most popular recreational and competitive sports and there are lots of water-sports centres in Essex where you can learn how to take part. Mastering Sailing requires experience in different wind and water conditions as well as a thorough understanding of your vessel and how it works, but a good instructor can easily teach you this and make it fun at the same time! Sailing in Essex really offers something for everyone, from the novice to the experienced sailor and it can be as relaxing or exciting as you want it to be. © sportessex 2008
